About The Amherst Players

The Amherst Players, Inc. is a non-profit community theater group based in the town of Amherst.  It was founded in May of 1948.  Its goals are the provide quality theater experiences for the poeple of Western New York through the presentation of at least three major productions each year, and teach basic theater with an emphasis on learning by doing rather than classroom instruction.  There are opportunities for actors, directors, light and sound technicians, stage hands, make-up artists, ushers and any other type of person interested in being involved with any of the many aspects of show production.  Workshops are also planned that cover topics that span all areas of theater.  There are many opportunities to learn about all aspects of theater!
